Serena Williams possessed the determination and drive for victory against Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic. Williams says, “I feel if I play well, I can beat anybody.”

Atlantis made the headlines on this date because it is recovering from its 'down season' last year. Amazingly, 150 jobs have been added to this resort. I chose this photo because it was taken in an angle that shows the height of Atlantis seeming to be touching the sky.

January 25, 2010- Miami Herald

Eleven days after Haiti’s devastating earthquake the gentlemen seen in the above picture survived after being caught up in the rubble for 11 days. He had no food or water hence I believe the fact that he is alive is miraculous and shows that he had a mind to live and not die. This is encouraging.

January 26, 2010 – The Miami Herald

Haitians are trying to make do with make shift tents after the massive earthquake. Despite the many tents already set up there are an estimated 250,000 Haitians still without a place to lay their heads.

January 27, 2010 – The Nassau Guardian

Teachers of North Elethura High School raged against allegations of Principal and staff. They protest and stand up for their rights, they refuse to work or send their children to school until this matter is resolved.
